Today, I will talk about a stone that was practically given to us by the gods so we can keep in touch with their power and wisdom, a stone that additionally of being beautiful, it has exceptionally healing powers. It is their way of letting us have a piece of heaven with us and to remind us that a higher power exists. It is a deep blue semi precious stone that has been with us since the beginning of human history. This is a second part post following “Lapis Lazuli Artistic Uses”. I am going to tell you about Lapis Lazuli – its meaning in the healing world and by whom it was used. Enyoy!!!
Lapis Lazuli is used for both healing our body as our mind and soul.
The Egyptians, who had an extensive use for lapis lazuli, believed in its healing secrets and used it to cure eyesight illnesses. They also used its powder to prevent gallstones, sleeplessness, melancholy and fever. Pharaohs used head kerchiefs with lapis because it was especially effective for migraines.
In ancient times, the alchemists used lapis (for short) for circulatory diseases, pregnancy, eye tumors and fevers. They continued the myth of lapis as a cure for eye diseases and also believed that it unleashed energy to remedy optical disorders. They used amulets or talismans to cure inflammatory infections of the eye. Alchemists applied the gem close to pestilential tumors. After a while of removing the stone, healing would take its course. They also pulverized the lapis and gave it swallowed.

This miracle stone cured the immune system, purified the blood, and lowered blood pressure. This stone was also used to relieve insomnia and vertigo. Women suffering from menstrual cramps used lapis Lazuli talismans as a cure.
Lapis Lazuli is one of the oldest spiritual stones known to man. Healers, priests and royalty also used this magical stone. They used it for wisdom, power and to stimulate psychic abilities inner vision.

The Egyptians believed the soul existed in the mind housed in the brain. The Egyptian priests also believed lapis blue was a mental healer and soul purifier. The priests mixed pulverized lapis with gold and placed it on the crown of the head to purge the soul of demonic possession. In extreme cases, a small hole was drilled in the skull and the mixture was poured into the head. Thank god, this is a long gone practice.
Theophrastus, a disciple of Aristotle (372-288 B.C) wrote about the physical benefits of Lapis Lazuli. From his experiments he confirmed lapis exerted a calming influence on a person and procured the aid and favors of the spirits of light and wisdom. This is a thought that has maintained through time.
Espiritual healers also believed that blue stones like lapis stimulates and activates the throat chakra. The Brow Chakra, also called the Third Eye is the center of our perception. Our consciousness is located at the Bow Chakra. We relate to ourselves through this chakra. Our Throat Chakra allows the energy from the other chakras to be expressed. If it’s of balance, it can affect the health of the other chakras. Lapis energy will unblock and balance the throat chakra. Opening the third eye commonly brings improved visionary abilities. It stimulates you to allow yourself to set free your imagination.
At the present time there are a lot of people that believe in the power of the stones and use Lapis Lazuli for various purposes. One of them is for psychic abilities, spirit channeling and also for the search of objectivity and mental clarity.
